Earlier in the week I brought you the ultimate basic wardrobe for women. 101 mix and match pieces to keep you looking chic all year round, as well as a 15 piece capsule with outfit ideas. Today I bring you the men’s version. 101 basic staple pieces, including accessories, to help make being stylish easier. Click here to see the Pinterest board (until I work ut how to embed it in this post).
Again, I have put together a 15 piece capsule of essential items, with outfit ideas for those of you who really want the super quick and easy way to look instantly pulled together. It’s the no brainer way of looking like a dapper dog, rather than a scruffy mutt. Again, these are not hard and fast rules, just suggestions to help you on your way. Instead of a navy three piece suit, you may prefer a grey one. Instead of Chelsea boots, you might like something a little tougher and hard wearing.
Take your lifestyle and personal style when making purchases. Always buy the best you can afford (especially when it comes to tailoring, knit wear and shoes), rather than throw away stuff. If you care for your items properly, they will last you years. On that note, make sure you’re going for classic cuts and details to ensure your wardrobe basics don’t date too quickly. Many of you will probably have a few of these items in your closet already, just fill in the gaps in your closet as and when you can. There’s certainly no need to rush out and buy everything all at once (unless you want to of course). I hope you find this post useful. I’ll be posting more in the style build series, including closet organising, how to care for your clothes and accessories, as well as picking colours and styles that flatter. That’s all for today though, thank you kindly for reading!
